Archive- February 2005 ----------------- Evil weather ----------------- I swear weather in Toronto isn't that great these past few days cuz....we're getting another snowstorm again right now T_T. (argh, damn you snow *shakes fist*). Yep, so it feels like -5 out there and in here..meh, not any better because I'm sitting in my basement, my right hand is ice-cold..yep....it's really cold up here. On another partly unhappy note, I found out(late) that Animé North 2005 will be held the weekend after the Victoria Day long weekend. This absolutely stinks for me because the friday before the con is the start of our In-class Evaluations which means that there is a possibility that I might have an exam to study for. If it's music though lucky me, I can get away with that because I don't need to study squat since I already finished my Grade 2 Rudiments exam last summer.Oh boy, it sucks (stupid school board and their changes this year >o<). Nevertheless I'm still going to the con, but I might only go on Saturday if I have an exam on the following Monday. What a drag because I planned to go on both Saturday and Sunday this year.T_T. On a much weirder note, there was a bat found on the 3rd floor East hallway(aka the Art and Science hall). And when I say bat I don't mean a baseball bat xD. I mean a live bat flying around o.o. How'd it get in and where did it come from I have nooo idea xD. Yep that was one of my weird sightings for this week xD. I really hope weather gets better around here, and 3 weeks till March Break yay! <333 ||February 25, 2005|| ----------------- sick half day ----------------- Well..today was a half-day at school yay!! <333333, this meant we got off at 12:00. Anyways, after school I went down to Yonge & Egnlington to play DDR with my friends. Well, actually we ate lunch first(cause I was really hungry, my stomach was growling through Civics O.o). Anyways, after playing 5 rounds(well, 5 games and 15 rounds) I started to get really sick, mostly because I started getting my period >o< So, I ended up throwing up my lunch, sitting in the washroom for 20mins, and then finally after 45min felt slightly better. I went up to my dad's office with my friends to possibly see if he could drive me home(ehehe, tough luck for me xD). Oh well, good thing they had extra cake from celebrating Jeff's birthday (which was actually last week on the 14th), because I was hungry(again xD, it's very normal on my first day periods. I get pains, usually end up passing out once, throwing up 3 times, going home*only went it happens at school*, taking a nap for a couple of hours and then eating a lot after I wake up). Oh, it's a late opening tomorrow too, does no good for me though because I'm always at school early. >_> ||February 24, 2005|| ----------------- Why snow?T_T ----------------- I swear, snow is out to get us these days. Sunday we had a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggg snow storm. It must've ended up being 2 feet deep(I could barely walk out of my house the next day to get to school, and my dad couldn't drive because it was impossible to get the car out of the garage >_>), oh on my way to school, I saw these weirdo people dressed in a cow suit O.o (I think they were advertising some vacation thingy since they kept saying "I'm on vacation, first time in Toronto". eh...they're scary*-*). Anyways, it was a late opening today, but, me being me, is always there early because my dad drives me to school. No worries, I always have backup work to do xDDDD. Handed in the course selection sheets today. And so far, the courses I picked were: English, Functions & Relations(gifted Math @_@), Chemistry, Biology, Music, Design, 16 Century World History(aka, Ancient civs^^), Computer & Information Science(the only grade 12 subject I'm doing xD). Intro to Accounting and Senior Band were my alternatives in case I didn't get into my wanted courses. Oh English today was so amusing^^, We were going through Act III Scene I of Romeo and Juliet(yes, typical grade 10 academic Shakespeare thing >_>). where Tybalt gets in a fight and ends up killing Mercutio(Romeo's best friend) and then ends up being killed by Romeo. What our teacher did was she had a person take on the role of each character in the scene. The "fighting" characters all had a pen(cept for Tybalt, he got the board ruler xD). So they act out the scene, and the thing that I found amusing was the fact that Romeo in this re-act killed Tybalt with a pen, bwahahaha, the pen beats the ruler!! pazzza!! xD. Yes, I'm a weirdo person. kyuu! ||February 22,2005|| ----------------- First term reports ----------------- WEll, actually the first term officially ended a few weeks ago, but we just got the report cards for first term today...yep....overall...I'm kinda satisfied with my marks. Cept for Math(*sniff* such a Chinese disgrace T_T. My marks were--> English- 82, Math- 72, Science- 85, Career Studies- 89, 20th Century Canadian History- 80, Music(Strings)- 95, Design- 90, Computer & Information Science- 82, and an overall average of 84.1. Overall 3 marks went down, 4 went up and 1 stayed the same(which was Design, because we do one major project per term xD). Bahhh, I hate my Math mark, actually everyone in my class hates their own. Mmm..gifted Math isn't that glamourous this year for everyone >_>. Surprisingly enough we're months and months ahead of the academic, but I can bet that most of us aren't doing as well as the grade 10 academics xD. Oh well, there's still 2 more reports coming up in the year^^. Yep...oh, and pictures from the Japanophile Noddle/Soba Day are up in my photos pages and I added more random photos too, so go look look^^ ||February 19, 2005|| ----------------- the musicccc....argh>o< ----------------- Well, had our school jazz concert today, and one thing I really gotta say is....that the String and Symphony Orchestra sucked! it sucked!!!! badly! Yes, at the same time I am also insulting myself, but I really speak the truth. Number one, for the love theme from The Godfather, those arghhh, dorky 2nd violins sitting beside me and my friends kept speeding up for every single pitzicato part of the song!!!! >o< it was so annoying, plus it made us all sound so bad ><. Then for the Pirates of the Carribean themes, they were horrid one counting, plus in general all the 1st violins kept speeding up near the end(for crying out loud we're not playing that fast! >o<) grr there's more to that, but those were the things that really bugged me the most about the concert. The concert band was great though^^ and so was the Hyden String Quartet(a.k.a senior string quartet) and the Concert band^^ the Sax quartet was good too(ehehe, me and my friend got to see Shulong*a.k.a chesnut boy x3* play). Oh Noodle Day was today too, mm...that was good soba <333 pictures to come soon^~ ||February 17, 2005|| ----------------- practice practice xD ----------------- School jazz concert will be this Thursday on the 17th. Noodle Day for the Japanophile club will be on the same day too^^(I'll be taking random piccies on that day too, just for fun^~) Right now I have nooo idea whether or not I'm going to waste a ticket to go home and come back, or just stay at school till 6:15pm(which would be easier...>_>). First term rports are coming out this Friday(damn, I'm so screwed @_@). Today I went to play DDR with a few of my friends, it was fun^^ ehehe yes we're all kinda beginners ^^;;;(at least for DDR Extreme, *I swear I can't keep up with Light mode xDDD*). Orchestra practice tomorrow morning *sniff* I have to wake up early >o<. oh well...(stupid 20% performance mark >o<) And..Happy belated Valentines Day^^ <333 ||February 15, 2005|| ----------------- On, Off, off on, Happy Chinese New Year^^ ----------------- *sniff* for a period of time, I've been locked out of the internet at home. T_T actually I still am but am only on for the sake to needing to do research for a Math assignment >_>. Anyway first of all, Happy Chinese New Year to everyone^--^ it's the year of the rooster (hahaha, one of my so called "compatible zodiac animal" x3). Hope all you single Chinese people got red pockets from your parents and relatives (I did, and *cough* will end up spending it again xDDDDD). Yep, Noodle Day for Japanophile next Thursday, I'll be taking piccies, so hopefully I can get those up..mmm...soba =3 ||February 11, 2005|| ----------------- DDR fun ----------------- Actually I was going to post this last Friday but...ya...anyways^^ Last Friday during our Japanophile meeting, we played...DDR!^^ yep, at first it was only the overlords and underlords playing, but then....haha, me minion goes out and plays...o.k, I'm not that great at DDR but hey, we had fun. Though most of us really wanted to see more of the guys take a shot at it. Oh, we'll get them next time >D, and I'll have my camera next time too^^. This week is a shortened week because we get a day off on the 11th. I might be going to a Valentine's Day anime dance at the JCCC next Saturday if Tracy can get a discount for us from her friend^^. ||February 6,2005|| ----------------- Happy Groundhog day^^ ----------------- woo, it's groundhog day today...it's been found that we're having a long winter this year XDDD, Got my mark for the mid-term Computer Science i did, came out o.k. lol....actually much better than I thought =P. Tomorrow our school will be back on the normal boring long schedule too. Which means 4 periods as usual, each period is 1 hr and 15mins long instead of just 50mins, and we have 2 periods in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, *sigh* it's a TAP day tomorrow too xD.(Mmm...TAP day to discuss course selections for next year x3) ||February 2,2005|| ----------------- Shorts over tomorrow, bah History... ----------------- well...tomorrow is the last day on our formal exam schedule, which means we'll be backon our regular boring 1 1/1 hr per period timetable T_T. bah, I alsodid horribly on my History presentation(joy, and that was formid-term too -_-) anywyas, it's off to bed forme because I've got orchestra practice tomorrow >o< ||February 1, 2005||
