Anime North 2006 Con Report

Time at Con.: Saturday only (again, damn you final exams!)
Costume(s): Rinoa Heartilly (modified) - Final Fantasy VIII

Got to AN really late this year *pokes Sia* she made me wait a hour at Broadview station TuT. yes...err..got there at 1:30pm, no line up of course for pre-regs. After getting my badge and such I went to get changed into my costume (because I had to go in early to finish writing my Math exam <-which I did bad on btw >_< I couldn't wear my costume right away). I have to say originally I planned to be Ed again for AN but because of my (again) cosplay crisis and a broken sewing machine, I couldn't finish the summer version of Ed's coat (the original version I used for DTAC and MTAC was meant for Canadian winte weather xD), so had to do Rinoa again, course I modified it, so this time my costume was actually closer to that of the character herself.
Anyhoo, after changing we went to try and look for Jaimy in the Artist Alley so we could junk our stuff at their table and not carry it around all day. Unfortunately didn't find her within 30mins so we left T-T. Played cellphone tag trying to look for Michael in the Bleach photoshoot (damnit! I can't tell with mask on silly boy *super pokes* xD). Said hi to Jess, Tara, Hannah and Kayleigh (sp?). Hannah was the same version of Ed that I was going to be lol (damn, if I was Ed we could of done random Ed x Ed yaoi for absolute no reason hahahahaha). Oh, met Loiuse that day too (she was the Conqueror of Shambala Ed I met at DTAC^^), Ayumi found me (before I found her lol, damn... I'll stalk you first next time Ayu! xD), got a pic of her as Riku (smexy! *hearts*). Left to go eat lunch at Harveys (Ikran got food poisoning from it T-T),didn't bother to go and get Masquerade tickets since it was already way too late in the afternoon (even though it was before 3pm, we all know Masquerade tickets go out really fast @_@;;;). So after spending about an hour eating a talking about random anime and manga with Sia and Ikran we headed for the dealers room (stopping for pics along the way). We spent a good amount of hours in the dealers room (though I didn't buy much TuT) and then walked around the artist alley to shop for fan-made stuff :3.
6:45pm we headed for the Masquerade Video room, (was really hot in there when we went in x_x). Sia lost her badge on the way in so she went with Ikran to go look for it while I watched their stuff, about an hour and the Masq still didn't start yet. Actually it didn't start until 9pm or so because there was yet another lockdown (last year I was stuck in the dealers room for over an hour because someone stole something from it? and again, omg! who the hell steals at a con!? =_=). This year, it was (so I heard) a lost '14 year-old' girl with strawberry blonde hair. Yesh...so this went on for about 30mins (with the con ops coming in about every 10mins asking if anyone had seen her >_>), until they finally had to cut the lockdown because hotel got pissed at them (so I heard lol).
Soooo...by the time the Masq. actually started about 1/2 the people that came in left. Course we didn't stay for the whole masq. (because my parents were picking me up at 10:30pm), so I left in between. But I loved some of the acts that I saw lol especially the "Forbidden Jutsu" Naruto cosplay group act (hahaha...so emo and hillarious..geno beats lol), and the "This Bites" Tifa x Cid(FFVII: Advent Children) act, lol..poor Cid. Overall still had an awsome time at AN, just hope next year I could either stay at the hotel or at least go for 2 out of the 3 days x3.
